Arrangements
for the Cornish double chantered pipes asssume the configuration Low D
to G on left chanter and G to High D on right chanter with a
bass drone ( illustration) but as with any
custom
instrument, makers and people actually commissioning the pipes may vary
the design. The basic melody line is given with arrangments and left /
right chanters are indicated L / R - Tails up / down
respectively (illustration) |
 |
The
notation for the GHB (Great Highland Bagpipes) follows the convention of writing the music in a
myxolydian scale in A (ie D key signature) although the pipes actually
play in B flat. |
 |
The
notation for the Gaita used here is in D, a
comfortable key for trad musicians. |
