What is Cornish Dancing?
The dances you will find on An Daras have either been collected from people in Cornwall, or have been created using steps/shapes from the collected information and inspired by Cornwall itself as a place.
Where can I LEARN Cornish Dancing?
Many of the established dance teams hold social evenings/afternoons where you can learn Cornish dances, click here for more information.
If you can’t make it to a Cornish dance class you can browse through the Online Index of dances that come with audio aids and dance notations. Alternatively you can order a publication with audio/visual guides, ‘Corrolyn’ or ‘Shallal’, which can be purchased from the An Daras Shop.
Where can I SEE Cornish Dancing?
You will find Cornish dancing at many events, some more obvious examples being the Helston Flora or Bodmin Heritage Day. Cornish dance demonstration teams can also be seen at local gatherings across Cornwall. For more information see the events section.
