All turn to face neighbour (ie. Man1 faces man 2 etc) and left arm turn once around. Couples 1 and 4 right arm turn once an half with partner at top and bottom of the set, while couples 2 and 3 right arm turn once with neighbour. Couples 2 and 3 take inside hands with neighbour, advance once step, take inside hands with partner and retire to form lines across the set, while couples 1 and 4, having turned once and a half, continue on the track to join the ends of the new lines (see fig.1) (A1)

Lines step right and left, heel and toe right twice and heel and toe left Twice. Repeat to the left. (B)

Couples 2 & 3 form a right hand star for four steps and left hand star back to position. Couples 1 and 4 circle the set, passing right shoulder with the person they are facing, left with the next, then right then left, finishing by forming an arch (man 1 with man 4, and lady 1 with lady 4) along the original line of the dance, but on the opposite side. (B)

Man 2 and man 3 cross through the arch made by ladies 1 and 4, while
Ladies 2 and 3 cross through the arch made by men 1 and 4 to join on the end of the line, taking two steps to pass through and two to go to place. Once they have gone through, those making the arches make a two-handed turn once around, change place right hand with their partner, to return to the proper side of the dance and all set right and left along the line.
