Wassailing

Wassailing is a tradition which takes place at Christmas, which originally involved a Wassail bowl, and going from house to house or inn to inn, singing the Wassail Song in return for refreshment, especially of the alcoholic variety. Many towns and villages in Cornwall had their own wassail tradition with their own version of the wassail song. The Bodmin wassailers continue in this tradition to the present day.
