‘ Hurling’ is a traditional sport in Cornwall which is now kept alive in two towns, St Columb (Shrove Tuesday) and St Ives (Feast Monday). Although traditions vary in each town, the basic wooden ball, roughly the size of an orange and with a thin layer of silver, is chased throughout the town and surrounding areas.
