Our Dances

Our core repertoire is drawn from the social dance tradition of our native Cornwall but we also include dances from other Celtic traditions as well as wider Europe and America.

Cornish Dances

For more about Cornish Dance tradition visit the www.an-daras.com web site or look out for our book "Scoots Troyls and Tea treats " which gives a detailed history of the tradition together with the music and instructions for 45 dances. This is available from Francis Boutle Publishers. Troyl is a Cornish word for a reel, spin or a spiral - a pretty good description of a Barn Dance!

Given enough warning we will include other social dances on request ....... .. on one notable occassion we even found ourselves doing a "Kangaroo Hop"..

Below are some mp3 clips of Cornish dance music, click title to listen.
